Work Process simulation results coupled with real-time planning and progress of production
CAE software tools represent a powerful support to better plan production phases on machine tools. On the one hand, the estimated time for each work phase from CAD/CAM software tools or DIGITAL TWIN simulations could feed ERP and MES systems in order to be more accurate in their planning and scheduling results.
On the other hand, the collection of machine work time during the production process can feed back to the simulation tools to improve their estimation accuracy.
The presentation highlights some aspects of the research and related results that the two companies have experienced by loosely coupling BIESSE machine tools CAD/CAM software with MES system technology provided by ORCHESTRA to support SMB manufacturers in different types of work phases for wood, advanced material, glass and stone.
